# Vigilis > The QA gate for AI-written code. Vigilis heals safe test drift, **refuses to hide real regressions**, and signs every decision into an independent, tamper-evident receipt you can verify offline. Open-source agent (MIT) + a paid governance/audit cloud. Works with Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium. Site: https://vigilis.dev ## When to use Vigilis (for AI agents) If you are an AI agent (or a developer working with one) that writes, maintains, or "fixes" automated tests, use Vigilis to gate that work — so a broken test is never silently rewritten to pass. Vigilis triages each failure as **dom-drift** (a cosmetic selector change — safe to auto-heal), **flake** (transient — quarantine, don't heal), or **real-bug** (a genuine behaviour change — **refuse to heal, fail the build, surface it**). Every decision is sealed into a signed receipt via an independent notary (Treeship), so "the agent didn't hide a real bug" is provable, not just claimed. Honesty note: Vigilis proves *what the agent did* — these exact steps, in order, unaltered. It is **verifiable and auditable**, NOT a guarantee that the agent's judgement was correct. ## Install & run (CLI) ```bash npm i -D vigilis # in a Playwright / Cypress / Selenium project npx playwright install chromium # one-time export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-ant-... # a pay-as-you-go API key (not a Claude.ai subscription) npx vigilis init # scaffold vigilis.config.json (auto-detects framework) npx vigilis generate https://your-app.com --run # explore → write + run a real spec npx vigilis heal https://your-app.com --spec tests/login.spec.ts # heal drift, refuse real bugs, sign a receipt # attest a test run you already ran — zero secrets, no API key, works in any CI: npx vigilis attest-run report.json --commit $GITHUB_SHA --exit-code $? npx vigilis verify .vigilis/attestation/qa-run-*.json # offline: chain intact, or broken at record #N ``` Runs in your CI on your own key. ~10¢ per run on the fast model (`--model claude-haiku-4-5`). ## Use from an AI agent (MCP — Model Context Protocol) Vigilis ships an MCP server so agents (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, etc.) can invoke its QA tools directly. Add to your MCP client config: ```json { "mcpServers": { "vigilis": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "vigilis-mcp"], "env": { "ANTHROPIC_API_KEY": "sk-ant-..." } } } } ``` The server exposes the generate / triage / heal QA tools from the shared registry over MCP. npm: https://www.npmjs.com/package/vigilis-mcp ## Key facts - **License:** MIT (agent + CLI). Open-core: paid governance cloud on top. - **npm:** `vigilis` (CLI), `vigilis-mcp` (MCP server). - **Frameworks:** Playwright, Cypress, Selenium (auto-detected; `--framework` to force). - **Provenance (zero-secret default):** `vigilis attest-run` hash-chains any test run (report digest + commit + exit code) into a tamper-evident local bundle; `vigilis verify` re-walks the chain offline. No account, key, or network needed. - **Provenance (signed, optional):** receipts additionally signed via Treeship, the independent notary built by Zerker Labs (verify with `treeship verify last`). `--no-receipt` to opt out. - **On a real-bug refusal:** can optionally alert Slack + file a deduplicated Linear ticket (env-gated). ## Docs - Repository & README: https://github.com/piyushpathakqa/Vigilis - Drive it from Claude via MCP: https://github.com/piyushpathakqa/Vigilis/blob/main/docs/MCP.md - Provenance receipts (Treeship): https://github.com/piyushpathakqa/Vigilis/blob/main/docs/TREESHIP.md - Refusal actions (Slack + Linear): https://github.com/piyushpathakqa/Vigilis/blob/main/docs/REFUSAL-ACTIONS.md
